Hey ho kiddies. Sean here with an update from The Wonderful World of Blockage. Our website has been down for a few days while we transferred the domain name. Really fun stuff to deal with, but we're back up and running again.
Nick is back from his tour drumming for Vice Squad and he had a blast. Blockage has been jamming in his basement, working on some killer new songs, and polishing our current set list to get ready for recording. I've also been doing some new arrangements on 3 of our older songs, "Song You Never Knew," "Set In Stone" and "200 pages." We've really grown as a band over the last 10 years and it's fun to make old songs new again.
While Nick was on tour, I got to reunite with The Queers at their June Knitting Factory and Alex's Bar shows. I played 4 songs at the end of each set and got to play with Wimpy for the first time ever. I had been working with the Queers over the last few years booking SoCal and SXSW shows, and co-producing the live DVD/CD "The Queers Alive In Hollyweird"), but I hadn't actually played with them since 1991. I gotta say, it was a really cool to play with them again, and brought back lots of memories of the Hugh & B-Face days.
Blockage has added two shows to our calendar. On Aug 27 we are playing Alex's Bar at Dirty Filthy Mugs' record release show. These guys played Punk Rock Social with Throw Rag in February and they blew me away. Also playing are The Disgustingtons, and Broke Til Thursday.
On September 10th Blockage will be playing a Punk Rock Social Pre-nup party (Julia and I are getting hitched!) at the Knitting Factory, and you're invited. Also playing are our industrial friends Idiot Stare and the hard-rocking Psychostar (feat ex-members of Betty Blowtorch, who we were lucky enough to play with at the Garage). We'll be bustin' out our new songs at both of these shows so we hope to see your ugly mug there.
